We spent a lot of time working in the yard over the long weekend. One of our projects was to prune the apple trees. I know we should have done it months ago...but you get to it when you get to it! Anyway, as we thinned out the overgrown branches, we discovered a nest. How long has that been there? S-lady decided she wanted to climb the tree and have a peek inside. She carefully worked her way up and just as she was getting close...a bird swooped down at her and
I am amazed at how hard those parent birds (the Dad showed up at some point!) work to keep their babies fed and happy. They are hunting for worms all day long. It's been really fun to watch them swoop in and out. We can't wait to see the babies grow and learn to fly!

We have a nest at our house too. It's in the corner of our front porch. We watched them bring trigs and things to make the nest. When mom and I would wait for the bus, we'd wait on the other side of the porch so they would continue to swoop back and forth from the nest.
