Everyday

Lucie makes me smile. Everyday. The other night I was trying to get her to sleep. She was staring at her hands for the longest time and wiggling her fingers. She was really concentrating, willing her fingers to do what she wanted. All of a sudden she shouted out triumphantly "I got two!" Sure enough, I looked over at her and she was holding up two fingers perfectly. We take these things for granted I tell you. Who knew it was so hard to get your thumb to hold down your ring finger and pinky? She's a master now. She can "get two" with only a moments notice.

Everyday as we pick out her clothes she informs me that she wants to wear a "pretty dress". Everyday. The problem is that most of her dresses are more suited for church or special occassions. They aren't really appropriate for everyday winter casual wear. We did manage to find a knit dress yesterday at WalMart. Luckily it was functional enough to meet my requirements and pretty enough to satisfy Lucie. She kept repeating to herself "go to store and buy pretty dress...pretty dress...so cute..thank you Mama!" And then she gave me the biggest most spontaneous kiss on the cheek! Well, one pretty everyday dress will certainly not do. Must go shopping!
