Two Month Mark

Today marks two months since Lucie joined our family. When we first met she was 17 pounds and 21 inches. She had two teeth and a buzz cut. She could sit and roll. She was taking one nap a day. She was sleeping 10-11 hours at night. She was eating mostly congee, and broth. She was drinking formula thickened with rice cereal. She hated the bath. She was one sad and scared little girl. Within days (hours really) all of that started to change.

I can't believe all of the things she has learned and done in the two short months she has been with us. Here are a few:

*loves to swim and take baths
*takes two naps a day and sleeps about eight hours a night.
*stands unaided
*crawls with reckless abandon
*eats crackers, cookies and bread.
*eats baby food of all sorts
*drinks 4-5 bottles of formula a day (not thickened with rice cereal)
*tries to eat as much "table" food as she can
*laughs and giggles
*studies EVERYTHING
*has met hundreds of new people
*has mastered the car seat and the stroller
*LOVES LOVES LOVES her baby carrier (and so does Mom)
*has traveled by car, plane, bus, and ferry
*has already been to California, Tennessee, Mississippi, Denver, and Oregon
*can say "Dad" and "Grandpa" "uh oh" and "mmmm"
*can give big sloppy kisses
*can wave and blow kisses and give five
*has four new teeth
*is learning baby sign language

What a difference a little time and a family can make!
