Top Ten Things We Miss About Home

1. Family and Friends-we miss you all terribly!
2. Water-we are surrounded by water here. We are on an island for goodness sake. The water in the air is so thick that you could cut it with a knife--yet you can't drink the water. That is something we definitely miss.
3. Ice-for the same reason as above. Very few people in China put ice in their drinks. Room temperature soft drinks-blah!
4. Home cooked food!-eating out every meal for 2 1/2 weeks just isn't all it's cracked up to be.
5. My very own washer and dryer-we've been using the laundry services here on the island. Although they are very inexpensive, it's just easier to do your own!
6. Our very own beds!-the "double beds" in the hotels here are really just barely bigger than a twin size bed--and very hard! Two twin beds five people in the family--you get the picture!
7. raw fruits and vegetables--I would kill for a salad about now. Fresh raw fruits and vegetables are not always safe for us to eat here, unless they have a thick skin on them.
8. MILK!!--the milk products here are just not the same and sometimes not safe to drink. I'm having a big cold glass of milk as soon as I can.
9. My dishwasher-I have been having to wash all of the baby's bottles, bowls, spoons, etc. by hand in water boiled in a hotpot and then poured into a tupperware container. Not that fun really.
10. The Scooter--despite all of the bikes and scooters here in China, "S" has not been able to get his scooter fix. He can't wait to get home and go for a ride!
