An epic celebration..a Gala affair...a Jamboree!!

It was BIG, really BIG. Huge.

OK, not "huge" really...more like tremendous. Well maybe more modest than tremendous. Hmm.. not so much modest as quaint. But fun. It was a small fun quaint commemoration of a very important day.

We scaled down our extensive plans and ended up picnicking with Grandma and Grandpa T in the backyard with a bucket full of KFC. (The kids reminded me that we ate at KFC in Guangzhou several times last year while we were in China...so it was an appropriate way to mark the day). Grandma and Grandpa T have been visiting with us for about a week now. It was so fun to have them here with us on this special day. After dinner, we had a spontaneous water party in the sprinkler, followed by chocolate cake, sparklers, and "monster snaps". It was a charming little celebration.
