Happy Half Birthday Little One

Lucie the day we met (ten months old)

Lucie now (eighteen months)

I am finally getting a minute to document Lucie's eighteen month birthday. I can't believe how quickly the past eight months have gone. Like they say...time sure flies when you are having fun!
Here's a few milestones to mark the day:

Lucie...

...still considers her thumb to be her best friend!
...has eight front teeth and two molars.
...runs and jumps and climbs on everything. She can get herself up onto some of the chairs and she likes to climb the OUTSIDE of the staircase. YIKES!
...has lots of new words (out, good, huh?, cheese, etc)
...has dozens of new signs (pig, dog, cat, horse, donkey, farm, sink, sofa, table, ice, ice cream, cake, coat, hat, socks, stars, etc, etc)
...started going to nursery last Sunday. She doesn't really participate. She mostly sits on Mom's lap and watches every little thing going on.
...naps once a day unless she's sick.
...still sleeps part time in her crib and part time in Mom and Dad's bed.
...eats everything and likes most things. (cheese is still a fav)
...is much more successful with her spoon and fork
...loves goldfish, pretzels, and anything sweet especially cookies and ice cream!
...no longer uses a bottle!
...refuses to drink milk (any kind of milk...hot, cold, chocolate, strawberry, whole, 2%, soy, etc)
...loves to crunch ice!!
...loves to play outside.
...figured out how to make her little bike "GO!"
...loves to blow bubbles and pop them
...loves to play chase with her Dad.
...loves to write and color (reminder to self--hide the markers!)
...is starting to actually sing (or should I say hum) Her current favorite songs are "Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam", "Popcorn Popping", and "Eency Weency Spider"
...actually kneels for family prayer (it's the cutest thing you have ever seen!)
...no longer pulls her hair.
...no longer bangs her head.
...no longer screams her high pitched scream in restaurants. (whew--Dad was threatening never to take her out again!)
...no longer pinches Mom's neck (thank heavens!)
...still loves to be in her carrier (although it's getting smaller everyday)
...is still small by US standards. She weighs 21 lbs and is 30.5 inches tall.
...cracks us up all day long! She's perfect in every way!
