I finally feel half human again. We've slept most of the night for two nights in a row. Of course tomorrow when we leave for the airport at 3am, we will be all messed up again. Oh well. Just wanted you to know we are having a great time. Lucie was a little stressed at first, but she is warming up a little more everyday. She did amazingly well on the flights, but does NOT like the car seat. We are going to have to work on that.
Our flight home from Guangzhou was fine. We were about an hour delayed, but that's nothing. We left China at 10pm and arrived in LA at 9pm. We had to go through immigration and customs. It took a while, but it wasn't that bad really. I think we finally got to the hotel around 11pm and left again the next morning by 7. We flew to Denver where we were picked up by my brother. He drove us back to his home for a few hours. It was wonderful. A comfortable bed and homemade food--we were in heaven! Then it was back to the airport to fly to Memphis. We arrived in Tennessee at 10:30pm rented a car and drove another two hours to Mississippi. We finally rolled into my Mom's driveway around 1am. We got as much sleep as we could before church the next morning. Then we spent the bulk of the day lounging and relaxing.
Monday morning we awoke early again and drove back to Memphis to spend the day in the temple there. It was wonderful to all be together. We were even able to hook up with some of the in-laws. Thanks for taking the time to travel to see us! It was wonderful! We spent the day together and actually stayed the night in Memphis at my Mom's home there. We awoke early the next day to take my friend to the airport and then drove back to Tupelo. It has been non-stop fun since then. Lot's of great activities and laughter...including a family dance, a family service project, a large inflatable water slide, a family olympics, boating, and plenty of time lounging pool-side. There's still lots more to come. We have the best family! We are having a great time, but are also looking forward to some "boredom" at home. We will see you all soon.
