Theater and Dance

Two highlights of the week--A Comedy of Errors and the Dance Festival.

Bman has been working hard for about six weeks with his sixth grade class on their rendition of Shakespeare's A Comedy of Errors. When he had his accident last Saturday, he was devastated that he wouldn't be able to do his part. He was playing one of the lead characters and knew that his class was counting on him to be there. No one else knew his lines, so he didn't want to let them down. After we were assured that his injuries were not life threatening and his cervical spine was cleared of injuries, we started focusing all of our prayers on getting him home and healed enough to do the play. Well, he was a trooper! They had five performances on Thursday--four during school and one in the evening for the parents. He was able to be in all five and he did a fantastic job! He was completely exhausted by the time he was through, and spent the entire next day recuperating on the couch. But, he was able to do it and we are all so pleased!

Friday was the annual dance festival at S-lady's school. Each spring each grade level prepares a dance to perform for the parents. The second grade danced to "Locomotion"...as in "come on baby do the locomotion". It was darling and we had a great time cheering on all of the kids.
